Supportive and punctual
Transferable skills
Throughout my school education and work placement flexibility has been learnt by working with different people from company directors to shop-floor workers. These real world design experiences have been invaluable to my personal development. But more specifically:-
Communication Skills
Professional personable skills have been gained through interaction with clients in previous employment. From comprehensive understanding and fulfilment of my clients requirements I have learnt to organise my time efficiently and to their greatest benefit both during live University projects and on placement at Interfleet Technology.
This has included preparing and presenting my own ideas and thoughts clients and colleges, as well as working together in small teams to create larger presentations.
I originally gained self-confidence with communicating with people by teaching adults water-sports at Center Parcs holiday village, because they wanted to learn from me.
Research Skills
Whilst at Interfleet Technology I conducted a full research project on the safety regulations and fire retardancy properties for new seat designs through legislation research and extensive use of the company employee’s personal knowledge, currently being utilised on two seat projects.
Whilst working for Teckron International in Jersey I took over research responsibilities for the latest market developments within the field of kit car component manufacturers.
Responsible Positions
2001: I held the position of Project Leader at Interfleet whilst designing and developing a new reduced seat pitch seat for commuter rail vehicles. My innovative and successful design is currently undergoing further development for possible manufacture.
1998: Whilst at school I was Staff Sergeant in the Combined Cadet Force leading twenty teenagers with rifles for 48 hrs on Salisbury Plain training ground.
1997: School prefect whilst at King Edwards School, Bath.
Computing
Previous experience of design packages including; Adobe Photoshop, 3D Studio Max animations, Rhinoceros, Solid Works and Alias modelling. As well as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint presentations.
Achievements
During August 2001 I travelled around Peru visiting Lima, the towns of Arequipa & Cusco, Colca Canyon, Lake Titikaka and Mattupitchu (the lost city of the Inca’s) after completing a four day Inca trail trek climbing at altitudes of 15,500ft.
I spent the summer of 2000 Inter-railing throughout Western Europe on my own.
I believe I was the youngest ever person this millennium to climb England’s tallest mountain ‘Scarfel Pike’ in the Lake District when I did so on 2/01/00.
I hold many outdoor qualifications including: full RYA Dinghy Instructor; registered RLSS Lifeguard; RYA First Aid and Speedboat qualifications.
Interests
